Why make a Will

A Will is a legal declaration naming one or more people to manage his or her estate and distribute the property after death.

It is a common assumption that should you die without making a Will (intestate), all your property will pass to your spouse. Whilst there are new rules with regard to dying intestate, if you were to die without making a Will, you would be unable to direct where and to whom you would want your estate to go to.  This leads to ramifications in relation to inheritance tax payable out of your estate, lack of choice as to guardianship of children and protection for dependants, and on any legacies that you may want to leave.

A Will is an important document that is often on your 'to do' list. Now is the time to be able to tick it off.
